TRAINING
Praise God for all the educational and training programmes of TLM and the partner organizations.
Pray for
All the trainees who are undergoing skill development.
The self care, occupational and physiotherapy training in the field

SPECIAL NEEDS:
Pray for the speedy recovery of
-Dr. Stephen Massey (TLM Kothara) who is seriously ill and admitted in the hospital at Nagpur.
-Mr. Chandan Singh Bisht (ward aid, TLM Shahadra), under treatment after accident at Faridabad.
-Anil Pusnake, (Welder trade trainee at VTC Nashik), suffering from high (leprosy) reaction.

2 WED
TLM HOSPITAL PURULIA
Praise God for
Dr. V. Pandey and Dr. A. Reddy who have joined the Hospital as Medical Officers.
The successful sports conducted for Staff.
Pray for
The need of a General Surgeon for the hospital as patients in need of surgery is increasing.
Mr. Sadhan Mondal ( Records ) and Mr. Lurku Bhumij (Security ) who had retired in Decmeber 2010. Thank God for their service to the Mission and pray for their future.

Praise God and pray for all the departments, leaders and staff of the Head Office, New Delhi and the Mass Media Centre, Noida. Pray for the Regional Office personnel and the community projects in each of the areas. Pray for the safety and protection of all the staff, especially those who travel.

ST. LUKE’S LEPROSARIUM, PEIKULAM
Praise God for
The Awareness Programme conducted on World HIV/AIDS Day at T.D.T.A. Kurugalperi Higher Secondary School, Asirvadhapuram. 200 students attended the programme.
The visit of friends and sponsors who led various programmes in the community.
The healing of in-patients Moses, Chitirai, Thangiah, Francis, Joseph Mary and Seethai from serious ulcers.
Pray for
In-patients Paulpandi, Maariselvam, Duraisingam and Ramalakshmi who are suffering from infected ulcers.

COMPREHENSIVE REHABILITATION
Praise God and Pray for programmes - Catch Them Young (CTY), Socio Economic Rehabilitation (SER), Low-Cost Housing (LCH), and Re-uniting, which works through TLM Hospitals, Projects and Partner Institutions. Pray that all these measures will benefit the most deserving among the leprosy affected people.

Pray for the spiritual well being and testimony of all the staff who will be able to minister to one another. Pray for the Counselors at all the centres who serve the patients at the hospitals and trainees at VTCs. Pray for the meetings, retreats and workshops conducted towards spiritual nurture will be effective.

BIBLE Quiz
Praise God for all the winners and the participants of last year’s quiz programme.
Pray for the participants to show more interest in learning the Bible through this programme.

CHAMPA
Praise God for the cataract surgery camp and M.C.R. Foot ware distribution camps conducted on 26-29 January.
Pray for
The marriage of Kaleb (S/O Mrs & Mr. Kaushal Masih, staff) with Dipika (D/O Mrs.& Mr. Manoj Ajgad VTC staff) which is arranged for 14th February.
The New OPD building construction to be completed soon.
Pray for patients: Anoop who has complicated ulcer and Shanti Bai who is suffering from severe reaction.

TLM HOSPITAL CHANDKHURI
Pray for the complete healing of Mr. Ashok Ram (nursing staff) who met with an accident in December. He had fracture on his shoulder.
Pray for patients:
All who come to the hospital that they will experience God's strength and healing tocuh.
Ulcer and diabetes patients and Suraj Prasad (suffering from ulcer on both his legs); needs special prayers.

Praise God and pray for all the partner institutions that are serving the sick and the children from leprosy affected families through medical, education, training and other welfare programmes.
Praise God for the good government relationship that TLM has until now. Pray for continued support and cooperation from the government and the local administration to carry on towards the goal of The Leprosy Mission.

18 TLM MEDIA CENTRE
Praise God for the 3day workshop on Media conducted for the British School students from Jan 19 to 21 at the Media Centre. 150 students- 50 each from Calsses VII, VIII and IX- attended the workshop.

19 SAT
SELF HELP GROUPS/ EMPOWERMENT
Praise God and Pray for all the Self Help Groups functioning in the fields that they will be effective, sustainable and will bring development within the society. Pray for the volunteers that they will effectively function and influence their communities. Pray that the self employment programmes started by SHGs and members will grow and make them independent.

21 MON
TLM HOSPITAL SHAHADRA
Pray for the complete recovery of Mr. Chandan Singh Bisht (ward aid), who met with a road accident last a few weeks ago and has been under treatment. Yesterday he was travelling in an auto rickshaw with his relatives in Faridabad, a speeding car hit him.

22 TUE
PHYSIOTHERAPY& PARAMEDICAL WORK
Praise God and Pray for the counselors and physiotherapists at all the TLM centres and projects. Pray that they will be able to reach out effectively to the patients who come to the hospitals, and minister to the trainees at VTCs. Pray for all the paramedical and non medical workers and their contribution towards healthcare, training and rehabilitation of the leprosy affected.

23 WED
MERCY HOMES
Pray for the ‘Snehalaya’s at different TLM centres (Almora, Bankura, Faizabad, Naini and Purulia) and other rehab homes run by the partner institutions. Pray for the old and frail patients and those who take care of them. Pray that the social stigma attached to leprosy will be removed and the relatives will accept them.

24 THU
TLM COMMUNITY PROJECTS
Pray for the ongoing 26 community based projects; for the Programme Managers, staff and volunteers that the work will be effective in bringing rehabilitation and development. Pray teams will be able to identify and develop new projects the needy communities and will find the resources.

25 FRI
VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRES
Pray for
The skill training and capacity building programmes through the six TLM Vocational Training Centres.
The trainees from disability and leprosy backgrounds, especially for recruitment of the new batch.
All the trainees who are appearing for the NCVT final examinations in July 2010.
VTC staff and families who train and attend to them.

26 SAT
HOUSING
Praise God for the low cost houses which were provided to the poor and needy leprosy affected people with the help of support from donors and district administrations. Pray that more houses will be provided and there will be better networking with, and help from the government and Churches.

28 MON
DONORS & SUPPORTING COUNTRIES
Pray for the churches and donors who sacrifice and contribute to the services of TLM. Pray for all the supporting countries, who mobilize resources for TLM India for its health services and community based developmental projects.

JAN 1 SAT
PRAISE GOD for the New Decade and the opportunities to serve Him. Thank God for His blessings upon us over the past years. Pray that in the New Year the TLM Hospitals, Vocational Training Centres, Projects and Partner Organizations will minister to the needy people and the communities.


JAN 3 MON
HEALTHCARE
Praise God and pray for the hospitals and community health centres run by TLM and partner organizations which are serving the communities around especially the leprosy affected people. Pray for all the doctors and nursing staff that the Lord will use them effectively to serve the sick with their skills, and that the patients will experience physical and spiritual healing. Many hospitals need doctors. Pray for dedicated and committed doctors to come and work in remote locations.

Pray for Healing
Praise God for the healing of Mr. Veera Raju, (Rtd., and serving TLM in promotional support), Nuzvid, AP., who had been hospitalized for a few months and now back home; pray for his complete recovery and strength.



JAN 4 TUE
SKILL TRAINING
TLM has six Vocational Training Centres in India that give skill training and capacity building programmes through which children from leprosy background, affected families and physically challenged are trained. Pray for the recruitment of new batches, placement programme, trainees and the staff and families who instruct and attend to them.

JAN 5 WED
VTC NASHIK
Praise God for the successful staff- student retreat, singing competitions at St . Andrew's Church, Sharanpur and the prizes won.
Pray for the health and wellbeing of students during the winter season.
The Leprosy Sunday programmes being planned by the VTC.


JAN 6 THU
PARTNERHIP & NETWORKING
Praise God and pray for the 50 TLM partner institutions that are serving the sick and the children from leprosy affected families through medical, education, training and other welfare programme.

ST. LUKE’S LEPROSARIUM, PEIKULAM
Praise God for the five wheel chairs received from Calvary Chapel Trust, Thoothukudi.
Mr. Duraisingh who retired after 40 years of long service as a multi-purpose worker, will be continuing as a part-time worker.

Pray for the bereaved families:
Dr. G.M. Jeyabalan (Rtd. Medical Superintendent) lost his three year old grandson recently; Mr. Isaac Jebaraj (Hospital staff) who lost his elder sister recently.

Pray for in-patients:
Ponnammal who needs adequate support love and care from her family.
Ramalakshmi, Sornam, Paulpandi, Danielraj and Ramiah having complicated ulcer with infections.

Pray for the construction work of 85 Low Cost Houses for leprosy affected persons under thisprogramme; pray for God’s provision and help to all the staff who is involved.
Praise God for the targets achieved in Socio Economic Rehabilitation and Catch Them Yong (CTY) projects under CRP.


JAN 11 TUE
TLM HOSPITAL AND VTC FAIZABAD
Praise God for
The successful ‘Christmas fete’ (fair) conducted with much cooperation by the staff.
The ‘learning review’ of VTCs conducted in December at the TLM Media Centre.
Dr. Anand Upadhayay who is joining this month.
The combined Christmas rally conducted on the 22nd December in cooperation with the Churches (CNI, Roma Catholic, ABC, ZION, FG Mission, and Asian Sahyogi Sansthan).
The Christmas get-together of local NGOs at the TLM FAIZABAD on 19th December

Pray for the urgent need of a female doctor at the hospital
The need of a Haematology unit for the lab to attend to the patient load.

CHRCH RELATIONS
Praise God and pray for the Churches that support the work among the leprosy affected through TLM. Pray for the arrangements being made for observing January 30th as Leprosy Sunday. Pray for the coordination of Leprosy Sunday service in different centres and Churches.

TLM CHAMPA
Praise God for the programme during the month of December
The free distribution of MCR sandals, self care kits and booklets in the leprosy colonies of Korba area on 3rd December- “The world Disability Day.
The successful eye-camp was conducted on 3rd December; 5 patients were benefited by cataract surgery.
The success of staff and family retreat conducted during 10- 12th December.
The effective outreach program (1-7 Dec) and the Thanksgiving Sunday observed on 12th Dec.

New Arrival
Vizia Vardhan Patta, (Principal, VTC, Champa) is blessed with a baby boy. Pray for the newborn child and for complete recovery of his mother who underwent surgery.


JAN 14 FRI
TLM COMMUNITY PROJECTS
TLM community based projects provides rehabilitation to people with disabilities, training in vocational activities and life skills for the affected to support themselves independently. Pray for all the ongoing and new projects; for the Programme Managers, staff and volunteers that the work will be effective in bringing restoration, development and transformation to communities.

DISABILITY RIGHTS THROUGH NGO NET WORKING, THIRUVANNAMALAI
Praise God for taking the project activities during the past year and for the lessons learnt.
Pray for the new leadership of the project from January 2011 onwards.

PARA MEDICAL STAFF
Praise God and pray for all the staff who work at medical labs, pharmacy, X-ray, radiology and other related units. Pray that they will be able to work diligently along with the medical staff in serving the needy who approach TLM and partnering hospitals.


JAN 17 MON
TLM REGIONAL SUPPORT OFFICE, BARABANKI
Praise God for all blessings showered on RSO-Barabanki and the Hospital during 2010; pray that during 2011, every TLM staff will contribute to the change of process within.
Pray for the projects funded by TLM New Zealand: WEP-UP and Empowering Communities in AP; that it will be optimally utilised will fully benefit the people of the communities with whom we work.


JAN 18 TUE
RECONSTRUCTIVE & CATARACT SURGERIES
Praise God for the RCS and eye camps conducted at different hospitals during last month. Surgeons from different TLM hospitals travelled and spent long hours at the theatres for the operations. Pray for the patients who were operated including many leprosy affected patients referred by government hospitals. Pray that the operated patients will be regular in self care and will come back to hospital for follow-ups.

MEDIA & ADVOCACY
Pray for the various media and tools used for education on leprosy, advocacy and elimination of stigma. Pray for the TLM Mass Media Centre in Noida to be effective and relevant in reaching the people and societies.


JAN 20 THU
COUNSELORS & PHYSIOTHERAPISTS
Praise God and Pray for the counsellors, physiotherapists and occupational therapists at all the TLM centres and projects. Pray that they will be able to reach out effectively to the patients who come to the hospitals, and minister to the trainees at VTCs.


JAN 21 FRI
MERCY HOMES
Old and frail patients who do not have a home to go back are taken care in different centres by TLM and the partners. TLM has five Snehalayas at different TLM centres (Almora, Bankura, Faizabad, Naini and Purulia). Pray for the old patients and those who take care of them. Pray for the technical and non-technical staff- managers, accountants, office staff, drivers, multi-purpose workers, office assistants, cooks, gardeners and guards who support the daily running of our services.

LEPROSY SUNDAY
‘Leprosy Sunday’ programme is observed on the 30th at different Churches in the country. Pray that these Churches will become leprosy friendly congregation and will partner with the leprosy work, become agents of transformation and accelerate eradication of leprosy and its consequences in India.


JAN 31 MON
PRAISE AND THANK GOD for His blessings upon us during the month. Let us thank the Lord for the provision of resources for all our programmes and the protection of all our personnel and their families. Pray that the health care, rehabilitation, development and training programmes TLM centres, projects and Partner Institutions will continue to be fruitful. Pray for the Lor

ØGod’s protection on Dr. Paul Mathew and team caring for affected mothers and infants, under the risk of exposure. (four babies were born to HIV mothers during last month)

ØNagalaxmi and her husband (both are HIV+) who came to have their third child delivered at the hospital. While on the bed improving after the caesarean operation, she listened to the good news and personally accepted the Lord as her savior. Pray for her spiritual growth.

ØThe five girls who are doing their nursing at different schools (2 completed and 3 on the third year); pray for their spiritual life and future service.
